Maitake (4 Recipe Ideas!)

Maitake is one of the easiest mushrooms to use! All you have to do is cut the white base and use your hands to get them into florets. Then, you can try one of the following delicious cooking methods...

 

Sautéed 

In vegetable oil with garlic, sauté for 10/15 minutes and add to your pasta, rice, or grain dishes. It’s wonderful! 

 

In Broth 

Cook in a frying pan with vegetable oil until golden brown. Then, add to your asian broth, rice, soba, udon, ramen and more...

 

In soup  

Cook maitake, shiitake and chestnut mushrooms, a potato and a few small carrots. Once cooked, mix together with vegetable broth.

 

Pickled

Bring 500 ml of water to a boil in a saucepan with 1 garlic clove, 1 pinch of salt, a few sprigs of fresh thyme and 1 or 2 dried bay leaves. Add the mushrooms and cook for about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and add 175 ml of white wine vinegar. Add to your jars, allow to cool and keep in the fridge.
